Gathering Storm: A Time to Mourn

Necromancers? Diseased townsfolk?  Myserious Mages?  Drunk Dwarves?

It must be Warhammer night!

In our last few sessions (not posted) the PCs attended the trial of the Holtz family and Kiela Cobblepot, nefarious kidnappers and murderers of Stromdorf. After being attacked that night by the newly-risen undead corpses of the convicted (and hung) defendants, Burgomeister Alder finally requested an audience with the party.

Seems there must be a Necromancer about, what with zombies marching right into town and all.  So the burgomeister asked the party to go get Brother Grabbe, the nearby graveyard caretaker and local Priest of Morr.

The Gathering Storm part III: The Hills have Hooves

---
"The mountains that ring three sids of the natural lands of the Empire are like walls of a stout castle.  These days, however, those walls are so thinly manned that the castle looks set to fall."
- Albert Kornhammer, Priest of Sigmar

This week, our exhausted team of adventurers journeyed further into the dangerous Oberslecht swamplands...

The Gathering Storm part II: Stewpots and Sinkholes

--
"I will NOT pay 2,000 Karls for a Dwarf-made pistol!  Solid Imperial craftsmanship is good enough for me!"
- Dagmar von Horstrup, Carroburg Noble (deceased)
--

Welcome to part 2 of our Gathering Storm campaign, a tale of high adventure featuring Fignor Rafflefrank (Dwarven Huntsman), Drogar Hammerhand (Dwarven Blacksmith/Barber/Surgeon), Fulthor Ironbeard (Noble Dwarven Rogue), and Gunter Von Graf (Plucky Human Agent).

In this adventure, the PCs finally make it to Stromdorf!

De Vermis Mysteriis --> Using Mysterious Tomes!

---
Early in our Warhammer Fantasy RP campaign, the lone human in the party (Gunter Von Graf) ended up with a heretical tome I did not expect him to find or keep after the first couple adventures.  Now, when the PCs decide to actually keep the tome you were using as a plot-moving Macguffin, and not turn it into the authorities, you could say: "The tome talks about blasphemous stuff and is bad to read.  Burn it or give it to the witch hunters," or you can tempt them with knowledge and power...

So I realized this was a perfect opportunity to Lovecraft it up!

The Gathering Storm part I: A Bridge Too Far

---
Our gaming crew has been playing the new Warhammer Fantasy Role Play (WFRP 3e), and have been having a blast.  Last night we started up a new adventure campaign titled "The Gathering Storm!"
