This past weekend, I made it up to Black Diamond Games, in Concord, CA, for a little RTT action. Reecius was going to be running this one, so I knew a couple things going in: 1) I wouldn"t have to face his nasty Space Puppies; and 2) missions were going to be straight out of the rulebook. As has been my habit for about the past year or so, I was going to take Tyranids; a variation on one of my standard lists seemed appropriate.

Barbarians and Priests
---
OK, I'm going to change the format of my posts a bit. This one will be out of order for my campaign. I don't feel that gaming should be about the rolls and character sheets, but more of a social event. I love co-telling stories with my players, but I also love eating and drinking and being a glutton and cracking wise.
So last Friday, I cleaned my nerdroom, got out my gridboard and vis-a-vis pens, and prepped my food and drinks. For beers I chilled some Bell's Porter, and home brew Scottish Ale.
And nearly every time I game, I make spicy chicken wraps for my players. These are from last Friday.
There's cream cheese and jallups in there. I can give you the recepie if you want.

Planet Chamberlain
As our three acolytes descend to the planet abord the lander, they watch a local area briefing on a green monochrome monitor. The planet is at the feudal technological level, that has not yet reached blackpowder. The population is very robust and warlike, and is used as a recruting world for the Black Templar Space Marines.

Dark Heresy
Thought for the day: Excuses are the refuge of the weak.

So, I’m leading a game in the distant future of Warhammer 40K, where the only constant is war, and the knowledge that demons will gladly eat your soul if you’re weak or unwary. If you’re unfamiliar with the setting, then go here. I’ll wait.
I like this setting because you get to play the role of the Inquisition. The players are sort of the bad guys. Hero is subjective. Lots of grays. And I truly enjoy putting my players into moral dilemmas, which I don’t really care how they react as long as they’re consistent. The ends justify the means is totally the theme, and I often have a powerpoint of 40K quotes cycling in the background to get everyone in the mood. Like such.
